Florentina’s Footsteps Foundation was created in memory of Florentina Rose Burton, who despite all she endured, always managed to spread joy.
We devastatingly lost our beautiful daughter Florentina to neuroblastoma childhood cancer at the young age of seven on the 15th November 2024.
Florentina endured three and a half years of gruelling treatment, including countless rounds of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, a stem cell transplant, two major surgeries, and CAR-T therapy.
Despite everything she faced, Florentina was a determined and truly inspirational little girl who touched the hearts of everyone she met. She built an incredible army of supporters who stood by her throughout her journey. I feel deeply honoured and immensely proud to carry on Florentina’s legacy in her name.
Our charity mission is to bring comfort and joy to children’s hospital wards across Essex and surrounding areas. We do this by delivering welfare packages, toy drops, play therapy sessions, snack trolleys, and hot meals for families. Wanting to create moments of happiness during challenging times.
Run the London Marathon 2027 for Florentina’s Footsteps Foundation
We have been given some charity spaces for the London Marathon. If you feel like you can take on 26.2 miles in April 2027 then please send us an email showing your interest.
We give priority to applicants who have never run a marathon before and are passionate about what we stand for as a charity.

Own Ballot Place
The London Marathon ballot results have now been announced. If you were lucky enough to receive a place, we’d love you to join our team. There is no minimum fundraising target for an own place runner and you’ll receive a range of support from Florentina’s Footstep Foundation to help you prepare for race day.

How You Can Help
We are delighted to share that we have installed a new freezer in the Parent Kitchen at Broomfield Hospital!
Parents and carers can now help themselves to a selection of COOK microwaveable frozen meals and ice lollies from Morrisons that Florentina’s Footsteps are now able to supply.
When a child is in hospital parents and carers often want to stay by their side every moment they can. We know how difficult it can be to leave your child, just to find something to eat and many parents go without. Hospital stays can also place a significant financial strain on families, with many parents having to take time away from work and facing additional daily expenses.
We hope this small gesture helps to ease some of that pressure by providing quick, healthy and convenient meals that parents and carers can have access too.
